Dramaturgie im zeitgenössischen Tanz ist ? positiv gemeint ? ein heißes Eisen. Idealerweise sind Dramaturginnen und Dramaturgen während der Erarbeitung eines Stücks die besten Freunde der Choreografen. more
On June 22, 2005 signandsight.com published its 100th edition. Since our launch on March 1, 2005, we have posted English translations of 63 features from the German language feuilleton press. Among the authors are Jürgen Habermas, Sonja Margolina, Götz Aly, Thea Dorn, Jörg Friedrich, Andzrej Stasiuk and Adam Krzeminski.
The translated articles are indexed according to subject matter. On subjects of particular interest, we offer dossiers - on the upcoming German Election, the European Constitution, Remembering World War Two and Terrorism.
Signandsight.com has been well received by the foreign press. El Mercurio of Santiago de Chile welcomed the site immediately, while the French weekly Courrier international printed the controversial text with which our site was launched - a call for English and the Internet as the language and media best-suited for European public debate. The Globe and Mail of Toronto described signandsight.com as a "fantastic website pulled from the netherworlds of German debate". The Spanish paper El Pais responded immediately by asking for the rights to the English translation of an article by Andzrej Stasiuk, which signandsight.com had put online. "There are so many things flagged up on the site which I want to read that it may adversely affect my social life," writes Hannah Cleaver, freelancer for The Guardian. "It's nice to see things brought to the point," writes Derek Scally of the Irish Times. And Victor Homola of the New York Times tells us that he reads signandsight.com daily and subscribes to our newsletter. The American author Louis Begley, when asked by the FAZ what he thought of the site, said: "I like it".
